Korean movie “A Destiny” is set to premiere on March 20 in Korea. The movie is one of the most anticipated Korean productions in 2008 as it features actor Song Seung-hun, his first act since discharging from military service. Song is joined by a strong cast which includes Kwon Sang-woo and Ji Sung etc.
Korean drama “Bad Love” (also known as “Cruel Love”), starring Kwon Sang-woo and Lee Yo-won, has ended showing in Korea on Feb 12 with disappointing ratings.
Despite starring the big names, Bad Love’s final episode only managed a 6.8% rating. On contrary, other dramas that showed on the same time has achieved much better ratings (MBC’s “Yi San” has 34.7% ratings).
Big names don’t always work.
Korean actor Kwon Sang-woo might star in a Japanese drama next year, as a Hallyu star. Hallyu literally means ‘Korean wave’ in Korean. It refers to the popularity of South Korean popular culture in Asian countries.
The drama is still in planning stage but Kwon Sang-woo has expressed interest in starring in a Japanese series next year. Early speculation suggested that Kwon would be starring as a Korean star who falls in love with a Japanese royal.
If things are going as planned, the J-drama will start filming in May 2008.

A recent poll by Chosun asked 6950 respondents “Which male artist would they love to travel overseas with?”… and Song Seung-hun tops the list.
Song has always been one of Koreans’ favourite stars since “Autumn in my Heart”; he was hiatus for 2 years for military service and he is back now… and seems like the fans haven’t forgotten about him yet.
Came close at 2nd spot is actor Kwon Sang-woo. The amazing thing is that both Song and Kwon will be starring together in their next movie… the box office seems promising lol.
Korean actor Kwon Sang-woo is going to star in TV drama “Bad Love.”
This will be his first TV drama since “Sad Sonata” in 2005. The new drama will start filming as soon as he finished filming his current movie “Destiny” around September.
