Hong Kong star Fiona Sit was hit by a man with a water bottle on Feb 23 when she was attending a charity event.

The attacker was alleged to have thrown the bottle towards Fiona, which hit her right face and another worker at the event. Both of the victim didn’t suffer any major injuries, although Fiona’s face was a bit swollen after the incident.

The attacker claimed that it was an accident, but there are videos and eyewitnesses that suggest otherwise. The reason behind the attack is still unclear.

The attack has raised fear among Hong Kong artists about their personal safety in public area, as another female artist Angela Tong was slapped on her face just about a month ago.

Veteran Hong Kong actress Lydia Sum passed away this morning (Feb 19) at the age of 60.

Hong Kong artist Lydia Sum

Lydia had been suffering from liver problem since 2006, which led to other illness. Early reports suggested that Lydia passed away due to multiple organ failure.

Lydia had started her entertainment career since the age of 13, and was one of the most respectable artists in Hong Kong. She would be sorely missed.

Rest in peace Lydia, thanks for the laughters all these years.

An old Korean commercial featuring Hong Kong star Andy Lau and popular Korean actress Lee Young-ae…

The chocolate commercial was made in 1990 (some say 1988, I am not too sure). Andy was already a popular star back then, but Lee Young-ae was still a freshy.

Hollywood actor Josh Harnett is working with host of A-list Asian stars in his next movie, “I come with the Rain.”

The Asian stars include Japanese hunk Takuya Kimura (pic right), Korean star Lee Byung-hun (pic left) and Hong Kong actor Daniel Wu Shawn Yue.

Lee Byung-hun and Takuya Kimura

Josh is starring as a detective that is mentally disturbed after capturing a serial killer. He is assigned to help a Japanese to find his missing son (Takuya Kimura) and encountered various situations in Asia.

Lee Byung-hun is playing a Hong Kong gangster; Daniel Shawn’s role is not revealed, but I am guessing that he is a policeman in Hong Kong helping Harnett in his case.

Josh, Lee and Shawn are currently filming the movie in Hong Kong; Takuya Kimura will be joining them in early September.

Update - it seems that Daniel Wu has to pull out from the filming because of injury; his role is taken by Shawn Yue instead.

“King of Kungfu” (or “Forbidden Kingdom”), the movie starring both Jet Li and Jackie Chan, is scheduled to premiere on May 1, 2008.

The filming of the movie is set to complete by end of the month (August 28). It’s reported that Jet has finished filming his part and is joining the production of another movie “Mummy 3″ instead; while Jackie and other main cast still need a few more days to complete their scenes.

Update - I read from other news that May 1 is the release date in China; the film might be released earlier in US and other places in April.
