Some recent pictures of Chinese actress Tang Wei…

Tang Wei is probably the fastest rising Asian stars in 2007. Her performance in Ang Lee’s “Lust, Caution” has won the heart of the critics… and her sex scenes with co-actor Tony Leung has created lots of discussions for months.

Just imagine you expose everything in order to be famous. Watching lust, caution is nothing but an sex epic … to me… I do not know what others’ think. One thing for sure .. she is f??king good in the action scenes on bed….

Lust, Caution is a very complex film, posing challenging questions of morality, gender relations, politics etc… If sex was all you saw, there’s probably nothing much going on upstairs in your case.

if the movie needed sex to propell its content, obviously the movie’s challenging questions were presently weakly to begin w/.
there are better films out there. (like johnnie to’s mad detective)

I agree. It was an excuse for a sex romp and not much more. If the plot and story content were truly so meaningful, they wouldn’t have needed the course and pornographic sex scenes. That’s a fact. I founded it completely rude and disgusting to the point that I couldn’t look at it. And I’m not one who is prudish when it comes to sex and nudity. This was way, way, way over the top. I have to wonder if Tang Wei would have shot to fame so fast if she hadn’t done the sex scenes. Was her actual acting performance that incredible? I don’t think so. She’s a beauty, though, that’s for sure.

To live of love, ’tis by Thy life to live,
O glorious King, my chosen, sole Delight!
Hid in the Host, how often Thou dost give
Thyself to those who seek Thy radiant light.
Then hid shall be my life, unmarked, unknown,
That I may have Thee heart to heart with me;
For loving souls desire to be alone,
With love, and Thee!

“That’s a fact” That’s not a fact, you idiot. That’s your opinion. Opinion does not make it a fact. The sex, while plenty, is not gratuitous. And without it, doesn’t tell the story of how much this one woman has to sacrifice in order to serve her country, and doesn’t tell the story of this man’s flawed existence. It is the one instrument Ang Lee uses to let us into his mind because of his public secretive personality. By using this raw sex, it taps into our own rawest emotions and sensitivities.
I don’t know if you’re Chinese, or not… perhaps there was something lost in translation, but Tang Wei’s performance was incredible. Her range was incredible and you believed that she was a young, naive Shanghainese girl, as well as a love-spurned Chinese housewife.
