Jumong was the highest rated drama in Korea in 2006, and has started showing in other parts of Asia.
Jumong is a historical drama based on the life of Jumong Taewang, founder of the kingdom of Goguryeo in the first century. The storyline of the drama has been largely altered though, to more real-life basis instead of the myhtical legend of Jumong (he is said to be descendent of gods in Korean myth).
The 81-episodes drama starred Song Il-gook, Han Hye-jin etc. I haven’t watch the drama yet, so I can’t share much insight about the drama; below is the story plot I gathered from a few online resources…
The drama started with the story of Hae Mo-su, the father of Jumong… about his battle with China’s Han armies and his encounter with Princess Yuhwa (mother of Jumong).
The drama then focus on stories after Jumong was born and nurtured, becoming the prince of Buyeo and meeting with his father Hae Mo-su, who was thought dead during a Han’s pursuit.
The latter part of the stories showed the intense rivalry between Jumong and his nemesis, and his love relation with Princess Soseono.

napanuod ko ang jumong hanggang 81 episode….
at sobrang ganda nga. ang una nyang na asawa ay si lady soya…pangalawa na si lady seosono…na naging queen…at si sayong naman ay di sya bading sa totoong buhay..bale karakter nya lang doon na bading…..alam nyo sa totoo lang ang cute ni sayong….grabe.

No# 1 fan ako ng Jumong, di ko mapalampas ang bawat eksena..kaya dapat pag Jumong na natapos ko na mga assignments ko. Napanood ko na pala yung buong episodes ng Jumong hanggang chapter 81, pero kahit napanood ko na pinapanood ko pa rin yung tagalog version sa gma, iba kasi pag tagalog mas nauunawaan ko. Grabe, iba-ibang emosyon ang nadama ko sa panonood..exciting, kakaiyak..lalo na nung nagkita yung mag-amang Jumong at Yuli, grabe di ko napigilang umiyak! Syempre awang awa din ako kay Lady Soya nung nakita niyang kinakasal si Jumong at Soseono. Hy..,kakabitin ang ending huh, sana may part 2!

Fan na fan talaga ko ng mga asianovela lalo na yung sa gma..gustung gusto ko ang Jumong! Nakapanood sin ako nun ng Love of the Condor Heroes, sobrang ganda kasi ng bida dun si Dada..Crystal Liu. I like her face so much, dahil dun idol ko na siya. Sa tingin ko bagay sila ng crush ko na si Jumong..Song il-gook. Isang gwapo at isang napakaganda! Wow, pangarap ko talga silang loveteam! Kaso korean si Jumong at chinese naman si dada. Sayang!!! Di sila pwede magmeet pero who knows.. Kung ito man ay mababasa ni Jumong..I love you!!! Fan na fan mo ko pramiz!!! Alam ko soon matatapos din ang Jumong pero kahit gnun. Di ko malilimutan ang prinsepeng minsa’y nagpabago ng gabi ko!

Di talaga halata kay Jumong na siya ay 35 yrs old na sa totoong buhay, akala ko nun mga nasa 20-25 yrs old pa lang siya, kaya I’m so shock! He’s 35, at 36 na sa Oct. 1. Si Han-hye jin naman ay 25 yrs old pa lang. Oh, 10 yrs ang gap na edad nila. Pero kahit ganun ang gwapo pa rin ni Jumong, kahit 20 yrs tanda niya sakin..hahaha! Bagay din naman sila ni Soseono/Hanhyejin..di hamak na mas gwapo si Jumong kaysa sa boyfriend ngayon ni Han Hye Jin.

kung ang lahat ay in-love na kay jumong na hindi naman nakapagtataka dahil gwapo naman talaga… ako naman ay super in-love kay daeh so.. hahahaha.. ang cute niya kasi, masyadong maatitude… lalo siyang nagiging cute sa paningin ko kapag nagagalit siya.. I’m one of the avid fans of Jumong (Song Il Kook). May friends really wanted to meet him in person. Sana makapunta sya rito sa Philippines. He has been our inspiration in our work. When we are tired, we just play the dvd , and all the stress were gone. We’re praying and hoping that Mr. Kook will someday visit the Phils.
Also wants to know if he received the gift sent to her by my friend last Oct. 1, 2007. It’s a plaque with a picture embossed on it. We just want to know his reaction. Thank you for replying.
