Gigi Leung visited Yunnan, China 7 months ago to film a documentary for TVB. The show has just been broadcasted on April 2 in Hong Kong.

Gigi is great. I think she’s pretty and she’s got a great voice. Like her songs alot.

Those costumes reminded me of some I’ve seen pictures of Tibetans wear. I’ve always been struck by their look because they are so similar to some of the early Native American Indian costumes (who are Asian in origin by way of crossing the Syberian Straits)
I was curious and looked up Yunnan and sure enough it is in the southern part of China near Tibet just to north of Vietnam and Cambodia area. Interesting place and culture.
I went to a Yunnan webpage. There’s a mix of alot of different types of people there. 3 major peoples of Yunnan including, Aini, Mosuo, and Shani. And 25 different classified minorities including Achang, Bai, Bouyei, Bulang, Dai, Deang, Dulong, Hani, Hui, Jingpo, Jinuo, Lahu, Lisu, Man, Miao, Mongol, Naxi, Nu, Pumi, Shui, Tibetan, Wa, Yao, Yi Zhuang. It said they are classified basically 5 ways, Race , Language, Culture, Religion, History.
A really diverse place.
I wasn’t aware but that is where a place called Kunming Lake is. The capital is Kunming City. I have a Chinese song I heard called Kunming Lake 昆明湖 by a group called Afterstring 后弦

Yunnan is the province with the most minoritiy races in China. I visited Kunming years ago, but only the city… so didn’t manage to catch much of their culture. Never knew that there is a Kunming Lake though.
