People who arent out to everyone often dont tell their families they are gay, especially their extended families. Thats common.
Sadly a lot of people in Hollywood worry that if they are openly “out” then people wont like them or something.
Just because someone doesnt know their cousin is gay doesnt mean their cousin isnt gay, no matter how close they are.
Maybe one day in the future things will change and gay people will feel more secure being out. Ive met alot of men in LA (a few are close friends) who regularly have sex with other men and yet are out to practically none of their family or professional contacts. Sad sad sad. I hope things change so that people can live their lives more openly and honestly in the future.

People saying that calling someone gay is an “attack” may be part of the reason why some gays dont feel comfortable telling everyone thats they’re gay in the first place!
