“Protégé” becomes best selling local movie in Hong Kong during the Chinese New Year week; receiving over HKD15 million (~USD2 million) of gross receipts after 8 days of showing.

Starring the likes of Andy Lau (刘德华), Daniel Wu (吴彦祖), Louis Koo (古天乐), Anita Yuen (袁咏仪) and Zhang Jingchu (张静初); “Protégé” is far ahead in cinema ticket sales compared to other local movies during the festive season.
Directed by Derek Yee (尔冬升), the crime movie is about drug lords and the dark side of the society… pretty unconventional topic to be showed during Chinese New Year, but it did well.
Still, it’s a western movie that topped the box-office over the week. “Night at the Museum” received HKD19 million after showing for 6 days.

Judging from the poster, it really looks like a good movie.

gramma lol. Andy Lau is doing very well to adapt to the entertainment world. He will be the role model for other artists that want to survive in the cruel entertainment arena.
