There has been speculation in UK that Prince William is going to engage with his girlfriend Kate Middleton; following the production of 100,000 pieces of memorabilia by Woolworths, one of Britain’s most popular retailers.
Woolworths have denied that they have any insider news about the royal engagement, stating that their production was merely a preparation for the event.
Marketing director Stephen Robertson said Woolworths did not want to be surprised by a sudden announcement of the couple’s engagement, like what happened when Prince Charles and Camilla got married last time.
William and Kate are both 24. The couple met at the University of St Andrews in Fife, Scotland, in 2001 but was first seen publicly together in April 2004 in a skiing holiday.
