40th Annual Country Music Association Awards

USA singer Carrie Underwood, 40th Annual Country Music Association Awards40th Annual Country Music Association Awards was presented in Nashville on Monday night (November 6).

American Idol winner Carrie Underwood (pic) won Female Vocalist of The Year and Horizon Award (for most significant creative growth). I am glad to see Carrie doing well after winning the American Idol.

Male Vocalist of The Year belongs to Keith Urban for the 3rd year in a row, but the star cannot attend the event because he’s in rehab now. Still, Keith received a standing ovation when his name was announced.

Brooks and Dunn, co-hosts of the 40th annual CMA show, won 3 awards with “Believe.” They won the Single of The Year, Vocal Duo and Music Video. Ronnie ‘Dunn’ also won Song of the Year jointly with Craig Wiseman.

Kenny Chesney took the top Entertainer of the Year prize; other winners include Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton, Rascal Flatts, Randy Scruggs etc.

Jerry Bradley, Sonny James and George Strait were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame officially.
