Japan mega music studio Avex is moving into China music market by purchasing 25% stake in ChengTian Entertainment.
With the collaboration, it’s hopeful that it can open a broader market for Avex Japanese superstar like Ayumi Hamasaki, Koda Kumi, Amuro Namie, TRF etc.
On the other hand, Chinese artist from ChengTian like Chen Hao and HuJun will have opportunities to venture into Japanese music market as well.
Avex is probably Asia’s largest recording company. Other than being #1 in Japan, Avex also own significant shares in Korea SM Entertainment, which feature superstars like Kwon BoA and TVXQ.
Avex Group is showing lots of ambition in Chinese market, and will look to dominate the rest of Asia as well. I won’t be suprise if they venture into Western music market in near future.

Not to forget Taiwanese singer Vivian Hsu who has released three full song albums withiin three years under her contract with AVEX. Other than with her former recording companies (BMG, SONY et al.) Vivian got 1st class promotional support by AVEX and her last albums are real smash hits :)
Lately it’s said that Vivian will leave AVEX and entered into negotiations withn EMI (she worked with EMI once several years ago). That’s astonishing after her success with the AVEX label ^^

Vivian going to EMI also? Never heard of that, but I doubt it’s a good choice because EMI has Jolin Tsai, Stefanie Sun and A-Mei now, Vivian might not get enough attention from the company. As for AVEX, I think she is still their top Chinese singer at the moment.
