Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin killed by stingray barb

Crocodile Hunter Steve IrwinSteve Irwin, the famous Aussie “Crocodile Hunter” was killed by a stingray barb during filming an underwater documentary on the Great Barrier Reef in northeastern Queensland.

The initial news is that Steve was killed by a stingray barb which pierced his chest, a freaky marine accident indeed.

Steve is only the 3rd person that passed away being stung by a stingray in Australia.

Irwin was one of Australia’s most popular TV personality and naturalist, with his wildlife TV program being showed worldwide and has quite some global fans.

It’s pretty irony that Steve always handled the dangerous animals like crocodiles, snakes and spiders in his show.. but in the end died in an unexpected fashion, killed by a relatively ‘save’ animal.

The 44-year-old Steve Irwin is survived by his wife Terri, and two children, son Bob and daughter Bindi.

I’m not actually a big fan of Steve, but I do watch his show once in a while on Animal Planet.

Rest In Peace Steve, your fans and fellow Aussies will definitely miss you.
