Mel Gibson arrested for suspicion of drink driving

Mel GibsonHollywood actor and director Mel Gibson was arrested on early Friday for suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) in California.

The 50-year-old Oscar winner was pulled over around 2am on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu for driving in excessively fast speed.

Gibson then reportedly failed a breath test, and was charged on suspicion of driving under the influence. Gibson is currently released under a bail of $5,000.

Although spent most of his career in acting, Mel Gibson has never won a Best Actor Award from Oscar, but named as Best Director indeed for his 1995 film Braveheart.

Gibson also directed “The Passion of the Christ,” which was recently named the most controversial movie in a US magazine.

Update – The situation was worse than I thought, Gibson was reported making slandering racist remarks on Jewish when he was arrested. He already apologized but seems like he’s in real trouble now.
