Hollywood actor and director Mel Gibson was arrested on early Friday for suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) in California.
The 50-year-old Oscar winner was pulled over around 2am on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu for driving in excessively fast speed.
Gibson then reportedly failed a breath test, and was charged on suspicion of driving under the influence. Gibson is currently released under a bail of $5,000.
Although spent most of his career in acting, Mel Gibson has never won a Best Actor Award from Oscar, but named as Best Director indeed for his 1995 film Braveheart.
Gibson also directed “The Passion of the Christ,” which was recently named the most controversial movie in a US magazine.
Update - The situation was worse than I thought, Gibson was reported making slandering racist remarks on Jewish when he was arrested. He already apologized but seems like he’s in real trouble now.

Yeah, that was a very unfortunate event back when it happened, Mel has always been one of my very favorite actors. And to be honest he still is, The incident doesn’t change anything for me. We are all human and none of us if perfect, (if there is such a thing). We all have our dark sides whether we want to admit it or not. I stand by that.
Celebrities are under alot of scrutiny all the time. We watch their every move and expect them to be flawless. It’s too bad that this will probably tarnish his image for alot of people for some time to come.
My favorite Mel Gibson movie of all time is the one that mad ehim famous, “Road Warrior” (Mad Max character). That movie catipulted him to fame out of the unknown, and I’ve watched it a thousand times. :)
