The King and The ClownChina is banning Korean record blockbuster movie “The King and The Clown” from screening in local cinemas.

The movie was based on 16th century story where the king had a gayish relationship with his royal entertainers.

This is the 2nd high profile banning of gay movie from China authorities, which I think was over conservative.

Earlier this year they banned Hollywood award winning movie “Brokeback Mountain.”

I actually read from BBC that China considered gay a mental disorder until 2001, ridiculous but funny.

China however do allow the distribution of DVDs for the Korean movie, Chinese fans still have a chance to watch their idol like Lee Jun-ki and others.

I saw the movie just now, and it is so sweet. ‘Brokeback Mountain’ is only ‘ok’ comparing to this movie, in my opinion.

Maybe there is some other reasons they don’t want people to know.. China has broadcasted several gay movies like “Lanyu”. Gay issue must be a cover. But what is in it if not for gay issue. Politics??
