Kim Tae-hee Biography
Kim Tae-hee started her entertainment career in modeling, and began acting in 1998.
Tae-hee’s noticable acting role only came in 2002 with TV sitcom “Let’s Go.” Then in 2003 Tae-hee began to gain real popularity with the evil sister character in “Stairway to Heaven,” co-starring Kwon Sang-woo and Choi Ji-woo.
Kim Tae-hee became one of Korean most popular actress after starring in 2004 popular romance “Love Story in Harvard,” starring alongside actor Kim Rae-won.
In 2006 Tae-hee made her movie debut with “Restless,” which was not a huge success by her popularity.
Kim Tae-hee has just started filming her latest TV drama recently, namely “Angel” or “Lobbyist.”
Why I like Kim Tae-hee
I was not a huge fan of Kim Tae-hee when I made this profile about her; in fact it was 2 of my good friends that are absolutely crazy about Tae-hee and I posted it for the sake for my friends lol.
I do like Kim Tae-hee though. I think she is pretty and cute, and can talk with her eyes. I like the mobile series of commercials she did too, pretty cool.

it’s good that she won an award in the most recent baeksang arts awards, congrats to her but…..errr….can i ask you guys something? when will she ever win an ACTING award???got any idea? i’ve noticed her winning only popularity awards, stuff like that and as an actress, most likely she is expected to win a recognition atleast for her acting, right? feel so bad about that, well….she’s pretty, no doubt bout that but appearaces are only a part or a requirement of being an actress, talent is the most important…i’m not in any way insulting her acting but that interview perhaps with her dealing with some laws in various countries of the world and how they introduce Korea’s laws on educating talented children, blah, blah, blah…i believe that there are certain people out there who are more appropriate for the job or the interview to be exact,..but Kth…hell no way! and what does her intelligence have to do in her projects, may i know? none of her movies or series even cfs had ever been observed prior to her “intelligence”, and for me she can use her wit in acting but so far i haven’t seen the slightest improvement in her job, whatsoever…i suggest that she just continue studying and pursue other fields like being a doctor or a lawyer if she can’t prove enough of herself in acting,,that’s my views, kth fans…

KTH is a popular actress, but do note that she has not much acting experience compared to the likes of Lee Young-ae, Ha Ji-won and Son Ye-jin etc. (the common award winners).
I am not sure what projects are you mentioning, but KTH is graduated from Seoul National University, one of the best university in Korea.
Besides, not winning awards doesn’t mean that she is a bad actress…

huiquiao, what is ur problem? ITS NOT FOR ME, for you or for us to decide on the level of KTH’s acting nor intellect nor marketability…and even for you to decide what field she should focus on…LOL!
I dun think Korean directors/producers of caliber will hire her if they took her acting the way you described it…They dont share your opinion and neither do I. For me she may not be the best actress in the world, but she’s the only Korean Actress that got my respect after her silent but intense (almost real) portrayal of SU-in Lee character…And by the way, i wonder whos your idea of a better actress?
yummy is right not winning an award doesnt mean ur a bad actress…it depends on the project and the level of acting required for a specific character or what they say “big break”…
Lee Young Ae and the lead actress in Rosy Life was also criticized for their acting abilities (some ppl will agree and some will not) but not after DaeJanggeum (and Rosy Life)…they were already in their 30s when finally the “break” they needed came…
judging a good actress you see is also subjective…u said it already, talent is the the basic/most important for an actress and she is still a formidable one, still alive in the acting arena. Of course, u wont agree but u can bring ur concern to the director/producer who trust her abilities… LOL
As for the new educational show project, for sure the staff and management of that station have done serious study on what the show required for a host. If KTH met the requirement or not, its them who should decide on that..not me..not you…
why spend ur precious time for an actress u seem to hav little trust or bother ur emotions on problem that is not yours? i just dun get it! LOL!!!
You asked a lot of question, but the keyword my dear is….TRUST!!! some producers/directors TRUST her acting ability, numerous companies/brands TRUST her name and POWER TO INFLUENCE THE MARKET, most koreans and some non-koreans TRUST AND RESPECT her on either or both accounts…
with wit, attitude, talent, and beauty she was able to earn that TRUST…
thats what KIM TAE HEE is all about…a cetified “MULTIMEDIA Star Material”!!!

um, but 5/10 in my part cause, it seems you symphatize a lot in korean actress, directors/producers etc., is there someone in YOUR OWN COUNTRY that can be compared to KIM TAE HEE??? well, i understand it as a fan, but as a filipino,, i don’t have the power to understand or maybe i’m just too young to understand,.. :(

^actually kiel this is the 2nd time i really like a female enterntainment celebrity..i drop the 1st one coz as much as a like her beauty and talent, i dun think i can bear her attitude towards some issues that really turns me off…
im filipino too, kiel..do u think there is someone that can be compared to her? :wink: NONE SO FAR right? though im not closing the possibility! lol!
as for our local cinema, i still think that nothing beats the movies of the 80s… in terms of depth of the story and acting… :) i enjoyed few local teleserye/fantaserye too…and admire some of the actors/actresses to some extent…
but yes, i must admit, KTH is still my no. 1. would you believe i fall for her onscreen presence, acting and resume first before i noticed she’s really pretty? LOL!

As mentioned by istatowin… the DVD is not out of the market. The only Restless DVD I found is going to be released in May 31… and it’s pretty costly to buy it online.
Perhaps joseph could wait a couple months later and maybe it will be available at your local store.

really didn’t mean for istatowin and all of you guys to hate me but i’m just clearly and purely stating my opinion, you asked who am i to criticize her this much?hmm….tough question but i like it, i have nothing against her but just like you, i am a fan, a viewer, a part of the media to whom she gets her money from…and its not my intention to insult her, if that’s what you all think…tsk,tsk but it also seems that a lot of actresses are being underated, they are a few of the best in terms of acting and looks of course and its not kth’s fault but the fans who seem to support very low quality actresses and other stars who possess only good looks but no talent in the very field that they chose… who am i again? i am a nobody..i simply have nothing to prove but kim tae hee????surely has TO IMPROVE AND PROVE to alll if not her fans what she got, right?and please you all calm down and don’t deny… it’s for a fact that she NEVER WON AN ACTING AWARD…ACCCEPT IT, GUYS!!!!
