The 59th Cannes Film Festival kicked off with the controversial movie “The Da Vinci Code.”
The Da Vinci Code, based on bestseller Dan Brown’s novel, has created whirlwind debates around the globe, with protest against the novel and movie for distorting the facts about Jesus and Christianity.
While lots of the Da Vinci Code fans were anticipating the movie for months, all those hype and protest actually provided the movie with enormous free publicity.. something that perhaps the production studio Sony Pictures would be happy about.
