Keira Knightley donated Oscar dress to Oxfam

Keira KnightleyBritish actress Keira Knightley has donated the gown she wore at the 2006 Oscar to British charity Oxfam.

The dress is currently being displayed in at Notting Hill Gate, in a west London branch of Oxfam, and will begin auctioning on eBay from 21-April till 30-April.

The charity is hoping to generate thousands of pounds from the sale which will go towards the East African food crisis appeal and says 5,000 would provide enough food for 500 children for 30 days.

The 21-year-old “Pride and Prejudice” star said..

This is such an amazing dress and I am really pleased to be able to donate it to Oxfam.

I have seen the TV reports on the horrendous drought in East Africa and I know how desperate things have become, so I am happy to be able to do something to help.

Keira Knightley was nominated for Oscar’s best actress with her role in Pride and Prejudice. She didn’t won the best actress award but her fashion did get some great praise.
