I saw Jingchu Zhang in Red River at the Hawaii International Film Festival tonight, and I must say that her portrayal of a mentally-challenged girl was truly outstanding. If China had an Academy Award, she would most certainly be nominated for her role in this excellent film and would probably win. China should be proud that it has actresses emerging of this caliber. If you are reading this, congratulations, Jingchu…you have an amazing career ahead of you! Sorry you didn’t show up with Nick Cheung and Director Zhang Jiarui. I look forward to seeing you in an English-speaking role.
