“King Kong” won the best picture in Empire Awards 2006 in London, beating the likes of “Sin City”, “Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith” and “War Of The Worlds”.
Empire Awards are voted by the British public, or to be precise voted by readers of Empire magazine in UK. So it’s an award for popularity rather than from an artistic point of view, the winners are the movies fans’ favorites.
Winning the best actor is Johnny Depp from movie “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and best actress goes to Thandie Newton from “Crash”.
Steve Box and Nick Park won best director for “Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit” while “Pride and Prejudice” is voted as best British film,
