Crouching Tiger, Hidden DragonOscar winning movie “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” is set to be on stage theater.

The Weinstein Co. has acquired worldwide rights of “Iron Crane Pentalogy” from author Wang Du Lu. It was from one of the 5 sequels of the Iron Crane novel that was made into Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon the movie.

The year 2000 martial arts hit movie was directed by Ang Lee who just won an Oscar Best Director last week for “Brokeback Mountain”.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon will be the first sequel to be put on stage, while the rest might be make into movies or stage performances as well.

The Weinstein brothers are looking forward to making a sequels of great films like “Lord of The Rings” trilogy from the Iron Crane Pentalogy.

It is actually quite funny because before the success of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.. Wang Du Lu’s novels are not really that famous at all. Even until now, many Chinese readers still believe Wang Du Lu is no match for other great martial art novel masters like Jin Yong or Gu Long.

Anyhow it’s nice to see Asian product to be adapted by the West, Broadway or Hollywood. Entertainment and movies should be borderless.
