Ha Ji-won Biography
Ha Ji-won started acting in 2000 as supporting role and won a few awards for performances in movies “Ditto” (best supporting actress) and “Truth Game” (best newcomer).
Ha Ji-won landed her leading play in 2002 movie “Phone” that made her into superstar status in Korea.
Ha Ji-won become popular in Asia with TV drama “Damo” in 2003, where she played a female cop in the 17th century. Her performance in the TV series was superb and shaped the benchmark for Korean WuXia (martial arts) movies and dramas.
Despite gaining fame in Asia, Ha Ji-won rarely steps out of Korea. Her acting career is still booming since 2003, involving in a few movies and TV dramas, including the popular series “Memories of Bali.”
Ha Ji-won also started singing in 2005, her singing career is however not as successful as her acting career yet.
Ha Ji-won latest TV drama is “Hwang Jin-i,” which started showing in Korea late 2006 and received good ratings. Her latest movie “Miracle of 1st Street” is doing well also, topping the box-office chart for consecutive weeks since February 2007.
Why I like Ha Ji-won
I started to like Ha Ji-won after watching TV drama Damo, which remains as my favorite dramas starring Ji-won.
It’s hard to define her beauty actually… not stunning, but eye-pleasing. She’s a good actress though, that’s for sure.

Any recent news about Ha Ji-won? Do you happen to know her awards since she started acting? I’ve seen on a site that she’s the “Queen of Awards” and that she’s one of the highest paid Korean actresses.

Cheiri… I didn’t keep track on her records; but considering her achievement over the past 7-8 years, she should be one of the ‘Queen of Awards’ in Korea.
If not mistaken, the drama that won her most awards is “Memories of Bali”…

She is pretty.
I enjoyed watching “Hwang Jin Yi”.
I was sort of jealous that she was in the film with Jang, Geun Suk, because he’s one of my favorite Korean star!!

She’s great in Hwang Jin-i. She also looked good together with Jang Geun Suk. They deserved to win as the best couple at the KBS Awards.

What was that link that you deleted? It ain’t about Ha Ji-won?
Anyway, do you know the Korean series “M”? I just found it lately that there was supposedly a series “M2″ and the most likely leading stars were Ha Ji-won and Kwon Sang-woo. I haven’t heard that before so I am quite disappointed especially that by that I could say that there is still a possibility that there supposedly upcoming series “Shiri” won’t push through.

Cheiri… it’s one of HJW’s fansite that I deleted. Mind that there are hundreds of fansites for these popular stars, I can’t simply allow all links to be listed here… it would be quite messy.
I do welcome sites that could provide much better information than I do, but not to give free promotion to all relevant websites.

I love Ha Jiwon! I really liked her in Damo and that’s the reason I started watching Hwang jin-i. I have seen almost all her K-dramas and moves except Phone and I can say, she really is a very GOOD actress. By the way, I really like your site. Keep up the good work!!!

I have a gud news. I’ve heard that Ha Ji Won won best actrees award for her role in Hwang Jinyi. I don’t know what the event it is. But if i’m not wrong that event was be held on September 7. Congrats to Ha Ji Won you’re simply the best…Ha Ji Won rock!

Cheiri… the news is quite a while ago. I don’t have the details… I can’t even remember the exact name of the event :p
Korea has almost a dozen (probably more) of movies and drama awards every year… we can’t keep track on every one.
