Bill Tung was a legend, a superstar. His demise is hard to fathom. He is irreplaceable and indisputedly Hong Kong’s most famous son in the horse racing world. He stood for what is right and would never fail to condemn a wrong, the sort of courage and talent no other personality in his own field ever possesses. He will be sorely missed, Our deepest condolences to his family and all those who were closest to him. Bill will be forever remembered as a gift to this territory.

I have known Uncle Bill since 1980 ( 26 years ago ). I should be in HK today ( 13th March ) to attend his memorial services. But regretfully, due to my work commitments in the forthcoming F1 races in KL, I am not able to attend in person. I was to meet up with Uncle Bill during the Chinese New Year. Despite his failing health, he insisted on picking me up at HKIA. Regretfully, due to my tight schedule, the meeting never materialise. I take this opportunity to convey my condolences and heartfelt personal lose of an extremely dear friend to Shirley, Hoong Yee, Ben and the rest of Uncle Bill’s family. Farewell Uncle Bill. I miss you!

Uncle Bill ’s memorial services is today ( 13th March ). His funeral services is Tuesday ( 14th March ) morning.

Thank for the note Peter, from what I can find the public can still pay the tributes on 14th morning.. not 100% sure as I’m not in Hong Kong as well.

The most important is that Uncle Bill will always be remembered and we can pay our tributes simply by keeping him forever in memories and in our heart.

Today is the date 14/3 for Uncle Bill.. um, i prayed to him in Spirit-land, eventhough he doesn’t know me and i don’t know him that well..this is what i said,”Uncle Bill. I am Pui-Pui Wong, who is Jackie Chan’s fan and please look after everyone that you have as friends or not, eventhough i don’t know you that well, can you look after me in heaven-land, please? I love you” then it’s started to rain, where i am. (in Sydney) That time was at 6:55am..

So, i suppose “Uncle”Bill’s spirit has answered me with crying..

Well.. everything came to an end for Uncle Bill.

When we see people like Jackie Chan, Jacky Cheung, Eric Tsang and hundreds of fans mourning for Uncle Bill, we know how much he was loved.

It’s sad to see a legend leaving us, but everyone will have their day sooner or later. What matters is the way we are remembered after we are gone.

As for Uncle Bill.. it sounds funny but it’s quite a splendid way to leave the world.
