Lee Hyori Biography]
Lee Hyori was member of Korean pop girls group Fin.K.L. (Fine Killing Liberty) that debuted in 1998. FinKL later went dormant when 2 of the 4 girls decided not to pursue a singing career.
It was Oak Joo-hyun who first introduced her successful solo album before Lee Hyori solo debut that rocked the Korean music industry in 2003, with her album “Stylish E.”
Stylish E was a superhit, and Hyori went on to grabs 7 music awards at the prestigious Daesangs 2003.
In 2003, Hyori also starred in TV drama, “Three Leaf Clover,” and was quite a success as well. Hyori dominated the Korean entertainment arena that year, the Korean media actually joked that 2003 is “The Year of Hyori.”
Lee Hyori and former members for FinKL gathered shortly again in 2005 to produce an album before Chori released her 2nd solo album, “Dark Angel” in February 2006.
Hyori’s 2nd solo album however sparked some controversies with accusation of plagarism. Apparently her single “Get Ya” sounded too similar with a Britney Spears song, the issue was already settled and Dark Angel was quite a success with some great dance hits.

Lee Hyori is HOT HOT HOT! I think Chori’s singing is ok, she and the producers are brilliant at chosing the right songs for her.

Well, I think it’s pretty obvious that alot of pop music culture nowadays is borrowed from western acts such as was mentioned. It’s not just Hyori. But that’s ok.
There’s nothing wrong with that as far as I’m concerned. West has been doing pop music for a long time. The modern pop music scene in Asia is still fairly new, and it’s growing and booming, and that’s a good thing. And there’s some very talented people coming up in the Asian music scene today.
Why not take some of those things that other acts such as Britney, J-lo, Beyonce, Christina Aguliera, Destiny’s Child, and others have had success with. They even borrow from each other. If it works…and it sells then no problem.

Some girls that people say are pretty I also find pretty. Others, I just don’t see it. But, like they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone has their own taste.
To me personally, as I’ve expressed before, Hyori has some nice facial features. Very even, well proportioned and sexy eyes, nice nose and lips. Nice normal face and head shape (by my own personal standards of course). I find those things to be pretty in a girl.
I know some celebrities that are thought of as beautiful by the critics and masses, I just see as having a good makeup job but not necessarily what I consider beautiful facial features. Just personal prefernce but some of them I just don’t find all that naturally pretty.
But I’ll admit, I’m a bit of an odd-ball when it comes to my ways of thinking vs the majority of people on alot of issues. LOL. But that’s no problem. To each their own. Everybody should be entitled to be comfortable with what they prefer in things of this world.

Hyori was outstanding among a lot of sexy singers. (u know, after hyori’s success, sex appeal became a trend in a Korean misic industry.)
She is very up-front and witty. If you have watched the famous talk show ‘happy together’, which was broadcasted right before her debut, you must be facinated by her. That’s what almost every koreans felt at ‘the year of Hyori’. She was really a hot icon. I still remember that whenever I read a newpaper at that time, I found out at least one article about her. We was crazy for every movement of her.
Nowadays she isn’t as nice as what she once had been.
(In first album, She was hot but also cute. Now, she is rather scary -,,-..I mean, too sexy…)

Yes jay, I am from Malaysia. I can’t be 100% certain whether Hyori’s CDs are sold in US, but I am pretty sure that there are some stores that are selling Korean DVDs and CDs… I am not sure where though.
Hyori has been to lots of places, mostly for filming her commercials. I haven’t heard much about her performing outside of Korea.

Inter-racial marriages (and dating) are more acceptable these days in Asia. Koreans in particular have lots of Christians, and this could bridge some culture gap between Westerners. I can’t speak in absolute way, I am not a Korean… but some girls in Japan, Taiwan etc. love Westerners.
I can’t speak for Hyori’s preference as well… I think she is dating mostly Koreans because majority of people in Korea are Koreans… make sense? :)
Asian culture are gaining popularity around the world, but people want to see new things. Japanese anime and manga for example are a trend all around the world. It would take a long time for pop music to gain similar popularity though, as said (East) Asian music are influenced heavily by Westerners… there are nothing new.
In fact I believe Indian and Middle East music might have a better chance to penetrate Western market.
As for how many yrs does Hyori have… I can’t tell. K-pop has only been really popular for the past few years… we don’t have enough clues to suggest how the trend will go. I do think that Hyori has some disadvantage though… her career is based on the packaging (sexy, dance and basic singing) and not real talent (song writing and great voice)… it might not last really long.

Different people will have different interpretation about talent… for me it’s simply doing things that not many people can do. Frankly I think there are many people capable of singing and dancing like Hyori… just that not many can look as good while doing so.
Asian celebs are not paid well compared to American celebs… but I bet Hyori is still quite a rich girl in any standard. It’s common for anyone to look for better partner… be it rich, good looking or talented… it’s a fact of life isn’t so?

I am not rich… I am just willing to spend more on travelling instead of other stuff. I don’t have an Ipod or PS3 and my handphone is almost 5-year-old… I save those money for travel instead.

I can’t remember studying USA history in school… I think the knowledge came from general reading and movies instead. I really don’t want to discuss political issues… it is something that different people will have different opinions and discussions would often turn nasty in the end.

I do believe in genetic in some sense, but I believe the environment would make more difference than the genetic itself. Einstein probably will have no chance to become a genius if he is born in a poor village with no proper education… where as some of the starving African kids that we often seen on newspapers could become a legendary scientist if they are born and raised some rich countries instead.

News aren’t 100% reliable especially in entertainment world, lots of those are just rumours. Again, use your own judgement.

Malaysia is a multiracial country. The national language is Malay, but English is taught in all schools. My English is just ok though; if you read thoroughly you will find lots of grammatical mistakes.
Asians do value education a lot… but sometimes I felt that Asian education overemphasized on results rather than creativity.
IQ is important, but it won’t dictate achievement in life. A person with 100 IQ could do better than a person with 180… there are other factors.
No, I don’t think scientists are racist in general, regardless of their research findings.
