‘We Belong Together’ topped the Billboards chart for 14 weeks, matching the feat of Elton John’s ‘Candle in the Wind’ 8 years ago. The best record for Billboard #1 is for 16 weeks, also by Mariah Carey.. ‘One Sweet Thing’ with a popular R&B group Boyz II Men back in 1996.

I think it’s a fair statement that female singers are doing well in the music industry 2005, Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson and Destiny Childs are all doing well this year. We should be expecting a female to win big in the comming Grammy Awards.
