I think it’s a fair statement that female singers are doing well in the music industry 2005, Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson and Destiny Childs are all doing well this year. We should be expecting a female to win big in the comming Grammy Awards.
btw American Idol 2005 was won by a female too.. Carrie Underwood.

besides,the longest no. 1 song on hot 100 single chart is “ONE SWEET DAY ”
by mariah carey and boys 2 men,and it spent 16 weeks on HOT 100 .
